What the result means
Your public IP is the address the Useful Atlas endpoint sees when the browser makes the request. It can represent your router, mobile carrier, company gateway, VPN, or another network exit point rather than one specific device.
Use Check again after connecting or disconnecting a VPN, changing networks, or switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data. The tool does not add location, provider, reputation, or device claims to the result.
Response boundaries

FAQ
Does Useful Atlas store my IP address?
Network lookup required. Your IP is processed to return the result and for abuse prevention; the public IP route does not save it to the Useful Atlas application database. Hosting, reverse-proxy, and server logs may still process or retain the address under infrastructure settings outside this route.
Why does this tool need a network request?
A public IP address must be observed outside your device or local network. The Useful Atlas endpoint reads the address associated with the connection and returns it to the page.
Will a VPN change the result?
Usually. When a VPN is active, websites normally see the public exit address used by the VPN rather than the address assigned directly by your internet provider.
Is this my private router or device address?
No. The result is the public address visible to the endpoint. Private addresses used inside a home or office network are not exposed by this tool.
Does this tool look up my location or internet provider?
No. This version returns only the detected IP address and whether it is IPv4 or IPv6.
